16 = "You reach the top of the valley and find a small, concealed fortification. The armed men at the gate wear the uniforms and armor of Empire soldiers, but something doesn't seem right.";
17 = "Their armor is damaged and dirty, and the warriors you see through the gate are dividing up stolen booty, not preparing for battle. This must be a camp of Empire deserters. They fled their posts and became brigands when the monsters came!";
18 = "When they see you, they're smart enough to not attack. However, they do grab their weapons and move to defend themselves. They're not interested in conversation. The penalty for desertion is death.";

22 = "You search the deserter's camp. Their booty is pretty pathetic. Just broken weapons and stained bolts of cloth. However, you do find a few packs full of barterable goods. Also, oddly, you find an old slith spear. It's probably a trophy from the Empire War. It might be decent with a good cleaning.";

28 = "As you tromp through the brush, you suddenly find yourself surrounded by Empire soldiers! They aren't deserters. They're well-equipped, professional, and led by a Dervish.";
29 = "Their leader walks up to you, and says, _I am Dervish Marchant._ He bows to you. _We do not need to fight, unless you insist on it. Your reputation precedes you. We would like to request your assistance in a small matter regarding the fight against the golems._";

34 = "You are quickly blindfolded and marched down several long, winding paths. Eventually, the blindfolds come off and you find yourself in a busy encampment, concealed by a thick forest.";
35 = "Dervish Marchant approaches. _Our division operates under General Baziron, in Tevrono. We're in charge of following and ambushing isolated golem groups. The problem is, we're sort of isolated here. I can't spare a single soldier._";
